This is a local dessert called Quesillo or Flan de Leche Condensada which is deliciously sweet and easy to make.
200g condensed milk
dash of rum
4 tablespoons of sugar
Mix all of your ingredients together thoroughly apart from the sugar. Melt and simmer the sugar in a pan to create caramel. Pour the caramel into the base of your mould and then add the milk and egg mixture. Cook in a water bath / bain marie for 40 minutes.
Allow to cool and serve with a few fresh strawberries, a drizzle of honey (preferably palm tree from La Palma) and a little cream. This pudding is perfect served with a small glass of Malvasía Dulce wine from Lanzarote.
