I’ve been enjoying my Kindle for years, but since we started travelling, Jules has taken to the plastic book as well. Although she prefers paper books when she’s at home, carting 4 or 5 around, with limited luggage weight allowance, made no sense, so for travelling, she’s a Kindle user too when it comes to holiday reading.
We use the basic model, and unlike a tablet, you can read them in bright sunlight, but there are also versions with a backlight, which are great if you want to read in bed without disturbing anyone else.
We thought we’d put together a list of books related to Lanzarote, to bring with you for your holiday reading:
The Wind off the Small Isles
A love story set against the stunning background of Lanzarote, and featuring Playa Blanca.
The Drago Tree
Based largely in the north of Lanzarote, and beautifully described, this novel brings to life the island, the people and some intriguing characters.
Tried and tasted – A guide to Canary Islands wine
An excellent guide to the fabulous wines available on the islands, and with accurate tasting notes.
Living in Lanzarote
This one is our first book, describing our decision to move to Lanzarote at the turn of the millennium and what we found here.
Still Living in Lanzarote
The continuation takes us through exciting, but sometimes dark times during the recession.
And finally, if you don’t already have a Kindle:
Amazon Kindle
Happy holiday reading!
