Promenade Arrecife

World’s Longest Promenade

Lanzarote now officially has the world’s longest promenade. At 26KM long it doubles the previous title holder, La Coruñas 13KM, with Atlantic City in New Jersey in third place at 9.25KM.

The promenade stretches between the resorts of Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise, passing through the airport zone, Playa Honda and the island’s capital Arrecife.

The promenade is accessible to walkers, runners and cyclists only and cars are excluded. There is a small section in Playa Honda where cyclists are not allowed, and they can either push their bikes through it, or take the marked diversion onto the road. Walking the full length will take between five and six hours. Arrecife is roughly at the mid point, so is about 2.5 to 3 hours walk from either resort.
