Julie and Mike, the original creators of Lanzarote Information, are embarking on an 8 islands roads trip this month, with a plan to visit each of the Canary Islands, discover what they each have to offer, and to record video and photos for everyone to enjoy.
They feel very fortunate to have spent the whole pandemic in the safety of Lanzarote, at their home in Haría, in the north of the island. Like so many, they have decided to continue to enjoy the beauty of The Canaries for their summer holiday this year, by exploring all eight islands, on an epic road trip.
Julie and Mike will start their journey in mid July, with a day in La Graciosa, before travelling the length of Lanzarote, and spending a few days each in Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, finally returning home to Lanzarote in early August. They will be taking their own car, and using the Fred Olsen ferry service between islands.
Mike said: “We’ve spent a lot of time over the years in the larger islands, but we’ve never been to El Hierro, La Gomera or La Palma, and we feel it’s time to put that right. This year, the tourism department is encouraging all of us to holiday in the islands, to help bring some much needed revenue to hotels and businesses here, so we’re very excited about our plan.
We’ll also be covering the trip extensively on our websites, with video on our You Tube channels, and on social media. We hope to inspire many of our customers to follow in our footsteps and discover the culture and beauty of these incredible islands we are lucky enough to call our home.”
Julie: “We love travelling around the world, but the pandemic has made us realise how lucky we are to live in The Canaries. Apart from Lanzarote where we live, we know Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife well, having visited them regularly. The part of this road trip that we’re most excited about is personally experiencing the smaller islands, so we can encourage our readers and clients to explore more of our beautiful Canary Islands.”
