Pesky Rules

This is a message from the team at Lanzarote Information to let you know about the rules we have for our online presence.

Let’s preface this by reminding you that all the information we put out is done so free of charge and with the very best intentions to help you have a better experience of Lanzarote. But we make mistakes, of course, and if we do, please let us know. If you just disagree with something we’ve said, that’s cool, as long as you keep it polite.

But at the end of the day, remember, we’re doing this for you, and for free.

Why do we need rules?

Our community has grown very large – we have about 3 million visitors to the website each year, and we have more than 100,000 people who follow us on social media.

With such a large audience, there are bound to be a few trolls, rude people and others who just don’t think before they post. We have some simple rules to give those people some guidance.

OK, so let’s have those rules!

  • Don’t be rude to us or any other readers. Disagreeing with someone and posting your reasons is fine. Calling them stupid or ignorant, isn’t.
  • Don’t use bad language.
  • Don’t use our pages to post complaints about other businesses. Post on their page or your own.
  • Don’t spam our pages with adverts for your business or event – if you want to reach our audience, get in touch with us.

Above all, be nice!
