Tapa Orgullosa, meaning Proud Tapa, will take place in Lanzarote’s capital Arrecife during the whole month of August 2025.
It’s a unique gastronomic route where the best bars, restaurants and cafés are filled with diversity, creativity and social commitment. Each of the 13 participating establishment will offer its own creation: an exclusive tapa that celebrates freedom, human rights and the visibility of the LGTBI+ community.
Judging by the names of the Proud Tapas, there is meat, fish & even deserts:
Bar Andalucía 1960 – “Soy más de pescado”
Bar Strava – “Los Amores de Casiopea”
Cafetería Mi Niña – “Reina Dulce y Colorida”
Chikketería 69 – “Tortilla Tortillera”
La Tasca Ibérica – “Orgullo Ibérico”
Pastelería La Perla – “Rainbow Fusion”
Restaurante El Parral – “Xauxa”
Restaurante La Casa del Miedo – “Un piquito sin miedo”
Restaurante Leito de Proa – “Polvito Orgulloso”
There are 4 more establishments who haven’t named the tapa of their creation yet:
Bella Vista Colombia
Cafetería Gibbs
Restaurante El Puerto
El Rincón Granadino
More than just a delicious bite, each tapa is a statement of principles, a tribute to equality and the richness of their identities. You can also vote for your favourite tapas and enjoy a culinary experience that combines gastronomy and rights in a single spoonful.

I think it’s a brilliant and creative idea. And as usual, the perfect excuse for a stroll around the streets of Arrecife discovering new establishments & revisiting the ones you already know.
