Interview With Writer Bruno M

Bruno M is a writer based in Lanzarote, and has recently published his first novel The Templar Chronovisor.

Hi Bruno, where are you from originally in Italy?

I’m originally from Sicily, a place deeply connected to history, mystery, and ancient cultures. Growing up there definitely shaped my imagination — I’ve always been surrounded by stories, legends, and that feeling that there’s always something hidden beneath the surface.

And how long have you lived in Lanzarote?

I’ve been living in Lanzarote for almost 12 years now.

That’s quite a long time. What brought you here in the first place?

At the beginning, it was actually thanks to some friends from my hometown. We came together, but after a couple of months they went back to Italy… and I stayed.

I had this feeling that there was something here for me — something I couldn’t quite explain at the time. Looking back now, I believe it was the right decision. I felt like destiny had something in store for me here… and I wasn’t wrong.

Good for you! Tell us, what do you like about the island?

What I love most is the atmosphere — the volcanic landscapes, the untouched nature, and that sense of mystery that seems to surround certain places, like caves and hidden areas that I really enjoy exploring.

There’s something about this island that feels ancient, almost like it still holds secrets.

And what is your favourite place in Lanzarote?

The volcanic areas are incredible, especially around Timanfaya — they feel almost alive.

But there’s also something more personal. There’s a small bench in one of my favourite hidden spots. It’s a quiet place where I often go to sit and look at the ocean.

I actually wrote parts of my book sitting there, so it’s definitely one of my favourite places on the island.

Will keep that spot a secret then so it remains unspoilt! Tell us a bit more about your first book: “The Templar Chronovisor”.

“The Templar Chronovisor” is a historical thriller built around a fascinating concept — the idea of a device capable of observing the past.

Who or what was your inspiration?

The inspiration comes in part from the story of Father Ernetti and the legend of the Chronovisor, a device supposedly linked to the Vatican. That idea always fascinated me — the possibility that time could be observed rather than travelled.

From there, everything grew into a much bigger story, blending Templar mysteries, hidden knowledge, and the idea that the past might still be accessible… in ways we don’t fully understand.

I’ve always been drawn to what I would call a kind of “subculture” — things that are not always in plain sight.

Mystery, thrillers, unexplained stories… those have always been at the top of my interests. I like exploring ideas that make you question reality.

What made you write your first novel?

At some point, the idea became too strong to ignore. It wasn’t just something interesting anymore — it felt like something that needed to be written.

So, I decided to go for it. It started from a single concept, but as I worked on it, the story expanded naturally. Characters, connections, and deeper layers began to emerge.

What surprised me the most is how the story seemed to grow on its own.

I love it when authors are surprised by their own stories. How would you describe your writing style?

My writing style can be described as cinematic and atmospheric. I like the reader to feel like they’re inside the scene — almost watching a film while reading.

Wow, that sounds great. Tell us, do you have any projects coming up?

Yes, I have a very clear and structured plan. Right now, I’m currently writing Chapter 19 of a new story and it will likely be released around June 2026. It’s a powerful story, full of mystery and adventure.

By the end of this year, I will also start writing the second volume of “The Templar Chronovisor” trilogy.

In 2027, at the beginning of the year, I’m planning to release another book — more of a crime thriller, still full of mystery and designed to leave the reader surprised.

Then, at the end of 2027, I will close the circle with the final volume of “The Templar Chronovisor” trilogy.

Great! Tell us something your readers might not know about you.

Something people might not know is that I’m not just a writer — I’ve always been passionate about art in all its forms.

Music has always been a big part of my life. I’ve been singing for many years and have released several records in Italy with different bands.

Right now, I’m working on a solo album. I’ve already produced three demos, and my goal is to release it by the end of the year.

And sometimes… you might even find me singing in a club somewhere on the island.

A man of many creative talents, no doubt. Anything else you’d like to tell our readers?

If you enjoy mystery, hidden truths, and stories that explore the unknown… then this book might be for you.

And this is just the beginning.

Excellent! Thank you so much, Bruno, for letting us get to know you a bit better and we wish you every success in the future.
