Lanzarote Restaurant Retains Michelin Star
The island’s only Michelin starred restaurant, Kamezi in Playa Blanca, will retain it’s star for 2026, as announced at a gala in Malaga.
Arrecife Belen In New Location
The nativity, or Belen, in Arrecife this year will be in a new location at El Mercadillo in Calle Leon y Castillo. The display will open on 5th December.
British Man & Daughter Have Day Trip In Lanzarote
A British man and his daughter are making headlines after booking cheap flights and coming to Lanzarote for the day. The man spent a few hours on the beach in Puerto del Carmen while his daughter went shopping. The pair bought tickets on an EasyJet flight from Gatwick, paid for parking at the London airport, used the bus to get from the airport to the resort and had a chinese meal there, and enjoyed 6 hours on the island, all for 112 Pounds.
Paraglider Serious After Crash
A 60 year old German paraglider was transported to hospital from Canteria Beach in Orzola after crashing there. His injuries were serious enough for the GES Helicopter to be scrambled, but after stabilising him, it was decided to take him by ambulance.
Heavy Calima Hits Island
A heavy calima arrived on the island on Sunday and Monday, bringing with it locusts in the dust blown over from The Sahara, as well as temperatures in the 30’s.
New Lifeguard Station For Famara
The Lifeguard station on Famara beach has been replaced with a new building, and additionally, three new watchtowers will be installed on the beach, and lifeguards will have access to an additional vehicle. Similar measures will be put into place on two other beaches in the municipality at Las Cucharas and Playa Jablillo in Costa Teguise.
