The World Cheese Awards 2025-26, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, took place on the 13th of November 2025 in Bern, Switzerland.
A truly global cheese event, the 37th edition of the Awards brought together cheesemakers, retailers, buyers and food commentators worldwide to judge over 5,000 cheeses (1,000 more than on the previous edition!) from over 40 countries.
This year Lanzarote cheeses have won a total of 8 medals ( 3 medals less than last year) produced by the same 3 “Queserías” or cheesemakers than on the previous edition, broken down as follows: 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
This is the list of the island winners ordered alphabetically by “Quesería”:
Finca de Uga https://fincadeuga.com/ located on La Geria Road, Km 18 (Yaiza) with a total of 4 medals:

1 Gold for Queso de cabra y oveja madurado Bodeguita
It’s a cured cheese produced with goat and sheep milk. It has a fruity flavor, dried fruits aromas, with slight acidity and a little spiciness.
2 Silver for:
*Queso de cabra maduro untado en pimentón
It’s a cured cheese produced with goat milk, covered in paprika. It has fruity and dried fruits aromas, with a slight acidity and spiciness.
*Queso de cabra maduro Rojillo
It’s It’s a cured cheese produced with goat milk, also covered in paprika. It has lacticand dried fruits aromas, with a slight acidity and spiciness.
1 Bronze Quedo de oveja maduro Bodega
It’s a matured cheese produced with sheep milk. It has aromas of dried fruits such as roasted almonds, slight acidity and a little spiciness.
Quesería El Faro https://queseriaelfaro.es/

located on the road from Teguise to Mozaga, Km 4.2 (Teguise) with 1 medal:
1 Bronze for Queso de cabra curado untado en pimentón
It’s a cured cheese produced with goat milk. It has floral / tropical aromas with lactic nuances and its flavour has a hint of dried fruits.
Quesería Montaña Blanca https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057312465355 located on Calle las Rosas, 21 in Montaña Blanca (San Bartolomé) with a total of 3 medals:

2 Gold for:
* Queso de cabra semicurado &
* Queso de cabra semicurado pimentón
1 Silver for Queso de cabra semicurado hierbas provenzales
They are all semi-cured and 2 of them are covered: one in paprika and the other one in Provençal Herbs. We couldn’t find any notes for the Guatisea cheeses so if any of you have tried it, we would love to hear what you think of them.
Some of the above have already been awarded medals in the past, but there are a couple of new entries this year with paprik covered ones featuring heavily.
