The 4th edition of the Hiking Festival in Tinajo will take place from the 21st to the 27h of May, 2025. It’s organised by the Tinajo Townhall with the collaboration of Turismo Lanzarote and Cabildo de Lanzarote.
There will be one or two themed trails each day, in which the participants will be able not only to stretch their legs but to have a different experience in each of the routes, including cheese tasting, beer tasting, photography and volcanism.
Tinajo residents can participate at the cost of 5 euros (will need to provide proof of residency before starting the hike) while visitors will have to pay 10 euros for each of the hikes.

The registration period will remain open until Wednesday 20th of May or until all available places have been filled.
These are routes that will take place this year:
Wednesday 21st of May – Photographic sunset in Los Cuervos
Description: Interpreted route in the Natural Park of Los Volcanes, visiting the Caldera de Los Cuervos, the volcanic cone that started the Timanfaya series. During the tour, under the guidance of a professional photographer, different techniques will be used to improve and perfect the framing and capture images of the landscape.

Thursday 22nd of May – La Santa – El Cuchillo Path
Description: Interpreted route starting in the coastal village of La Santa, where we will analyse its demographic evolution and its environmental and ethnographic values. It will ascend towards El Cuchillo, observing the sandy areas, the traditional system of cultivation dominant in the area. The route will continue along the Filo de El Cuchillo, where the geology of the caldera of the same name will be discussed. Finally, there will be a visit to the Filo de El Cuchillo cheese factory, with a tasting of cheeses and other local products.

Friday 23rd of May – Dramatised route in Tinajo
Description: An interpretative route through the centre of the village of Tinajo, in which various dramatisations will deal with historical, environmental and cultural themes of the municipality.

Saturday 24th of May – Caldera Blanca
Description: Interpreted route through the Natural Park of Los Volcanes, analysing the effects of the eruption of Timanfaya. Some of the most spectacular islets of the region will be visited, such as La Caldereta and Caldera Blanca, areas that were saved from the volcanic destruction and were later used for livestock and agriculture.

Saturday 24 of May – Family trail and storytelling in Coruja
Description: Route designed for families, combining environmental interpretation of the territory with oral narrations aimed at children. A day in which parents and children will share an educational and enjoyable experience.
– Recommended age for children from 5 years old.
– Children cannot attend without an accompanying adult.
– Only the adults accompanying the children need to register for this hike

Sunday 25th of May – Tenesar – Mancha Blanca
Description: A long route that starts in the village of Tenesar and climbs towards Mancha Blanca. Along the way, the route passes through sandy agricultural landscapes surrounded by dry stone walls, a valuable cultural and scenic heritage.

Sunday 25th of May – Montaña Tinache
Description: Interpreted route through the Tinache Mountain, where the different geological and landscape formations surrounding this imposing volcanic cone will be analysed. During the route you will observe sandy areas, evolved malpaíses and areas of jable, which form a mosaic of great environmental value.

Closing of the Festival:
After the last day of hiking, we will celebrate a final event at the Tinajo Farmers’ Market, with live music and a gastronomic sample of local products, putting the finishing touch to this edition of the festival.
