“Enyesque” is a small portion of food that is served to accompany drinks. So basically, it’s Canarian for “tapas”. This is a ruta de la tapa.
The 2nd edition of Teguise’s Ruta del Enyesque, or ruta de la tapa, will take place in the old capital of the island from the 16th to the 22nd of December, 2019.
These are the participating restaurants and their gastronomic proposal:
1) El Zaguán
Calle León y Castillo, 6
Tapa: Leek and coriander.
Served: Tuesday to Sunday from 13h to 22h.
2) El Patio Crêperie
Calle Las Flores, 6
Tapa: Chorizo in cider.
Served: Tuesday to Sunday from 11h to 19h.
3) Sociedad de Teguise
Calle León y Castillo, 4
Tapa: Liver skewer.
Served: Tuesday to Sunday from 13h to 16h and from 17h to 23h.
4) Queso Project
Calle Nueva, 4
Tapa: Raclette skewer with bonitas potatoes and Alpine cheese.
Served: from Wednesday to Sunday from 12h to 16h and and 19h to 22h.
Plaza Clavijo y Fajardo, 1
Tapa: Sweet potato croquette with caramelised onion.
Served: Monday to Sunday from 10h to 16h, except Tuesday from 10h to 20h.
6) Taberna Barbazul

Tapa: Lentils with chorizo and cilantro.
Served: Wednesday to Friday from 11h to 15h and Sunday from 11h to 17h.
Concert on Sunday 22nd at 15h.
7) El Recoveco

Tapa: Canarian enyesque (gofio with dogfish and mojo).
Served: Monday to Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11h to 17h, Thursday from 11h to 21h.
8) Cafetería La Tahona

Tapa: Crunchy of smoked cheese with quinoa salad.
Served: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 19h to 23h.
9) Casa Suso

Tapa: Goat meat with potatoes, onion and peppers.
Served: Tuesday to Sunday from 12h to 22h.
10) La Taza de Café
Calle Garajonay, 32
Tapa: Spinach croquettes with pine kernels on a bed of mashed potatoes with spices.
Served: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11h to 13h and from 18h to 21h.
Concert by Tony Montana on Friday 20th at 19h.
11) Pintxos Shop
Calle Matrionio Duque Abreut, s/n
Tapa: Smoked tuna fajjitas.
Served: Friday and Saturday from 16h to 21h.
You can get each tapa and a drink (that can be water, a small beer or a soft drink – check for each establishments offerings) for only €3.
The booklets of the “ruta” are available at any of the participating establishments. Don’t forget to ask to get it stamped when you have each tapa!
The booklets with all the stamps can enter a draw to win a trip to Seville for two people. The draw will take place on the 27th of December at 20h where the musical “Teguise Encanta” takes place.
Also, new this year: Publish a photo of your favourite tapa on Facebook and tag @zcavilladeteguise on it. The most voted photo will win a dinner for two. The winner photo will also be announced on the 27th.
The “Ruta” is happening during the Christmas festivities in Teguise so remember that, in addition to the live music played in two of the participating establishments, there will be music and other events for the whole family in town, including the Christmas Fayre from the Friday 20th to the Sunday 22nd.
