Annually “Qué Bueno Canarias” gives awards to the top restaurants and chefs spread over all the Canary Islands, across 10 different categories.
These awards are synonymous with culinary excellence, represented by the best gastronomic proposals that the archipelago has to offer.
They not only recognise the trajectory achieved through effort and excellence, but also the capacity of each restaurant to conquer the most demanding palates with daring, original and first-class proposals.
These were the Lanzarote nominees to the 13th edition of the awards:
Best Restauration Project: César Lanzarote in La Asomada and Shibumi Sushi Lab in Playa Blanca
Best Hotel Restaurant: México Lindo (Hotel Barceló) in Playa Blanca and Palacio Ico (Hotel Boutique Palacio Ico) in Teguise
Best Grill: La Cascada del Puerto in Puerto del Carmen and El Bocadito in Costa Teguise
Best Foreign Cuisine:
Sebastyan’s and Mumbai Masala Rubicón, both in Playa Blanca and
Kaori in Puerto del Carmen
Best Spanish Cuisine: Liken and La Casa Roja, both in Playa Blanca
Best Canarian Cuisine:
Castillo de San José in Arrecife, Brisa Marina in Playa Blanca, La Tegala in Mácher and Amanecer in Arrieta
Best Service:
Dunas de Famara in, ehem, Famara and Isla de Lobos in Playa Blanca
Best Chef:
Germán Blanco from Brisa Marina and Gonzalo Calzadilla (Isla de Lobos), both in Playa Blanca
Best Canarian Restaurant:
La Bodega de Santiago in Yaiza and Isla de Lobos in Playa Blanca.
Acknowledgement Qué Bueno Canarias to International Prestige: Restaurante Kamezí in Playa Blanca.
In this edition Lanzarote not only is present in all categories but they have several nominees in almost all categories.
The overall winners were announced at a gala that took place on the 10th of March in our very own Jameos del Agua.
Out of all the Lanzarote nominations Brisa Marina took the award home in the Canarian Cuisine category. Also, SeBe in Costa Teguise got a Special Recognition as Sustainable Restaurant of the Year which is no mean feat.
