New Wine Tour – The North

We all know the main wine region of Lanzarote at La Geria, nestling in the volcanic ash thrown up by the eruptions of Timanfaya.

But did you know there was another region where grapes are grown and wine is made? It’s in the north of the island, in the municipality of Haria, and is known as Yé-Lajaras. The vines there are cultivated in a completely different way, using really different techniques and tools.

The team at Wine Tours Lanzarote have come up with a brand new tour, which will reveal the secrets of Yé-Lajaras, show you how the vines are cultivated, give you a chance to taste the wine, and enjoy a pairing experience at a Michelin recommended restaurant. And, of course, visting the north of Lanzarote will take you to some of the most breathtakingly beautiful parts of the island.

The tour includes:

  • Visits to two vineyards
  • A tour of Bodega Olivina and a meeting with the founder, Jorge
  • Wine and local goat’s cheese tasting
  • Gourmet wine tasting at Tacande, accompanied by KM Zero food pairings
  • Transport to and from Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Puerto Calero or Playa Honda

The tour runs every Wednesday afternoon, lasts for about 5 hours and is limited to 8 people per trip. The cost is 99 € person, and you can book at their website: Wine Tours Lanzarote North Tour.
