Pintxos Shop

Lanzarote Restaurant Review – Pintxos Shop, Teguise

The Pintxos shop was on the list for the recent Gastro tapas tour of Teguise, so we decided to visit to try their €4 tapa and a drink. We were so impressed, we stayed for several more, and we’ll be back again soon!

Pintxos Shop has high tables and chairs both in and outside and it’s located in the pedestrian area of Teguise. It has the feel of a typical Pintxo bar in Barcelona – a modern look and feel, a large display cabinet for the pintxos, and bustling staff keeping everyone topped up with food and drink. They also have a display of gourmet goods for sale on the walls.

Pintxos, or pinchos, are the version of tapas normally served in the north of Spain. The base is usually a slice of crusty bread and they are served with a variety of toppings, which can include meat, fish, salads or tortilla. They are delicious to enjoy with a glass of wine or beer.

At Pintxos shop the gastro offering was crab and walnut mayonnaise, topped with smoked salmon, fresh dill and a quail’s egg. It was absolutely delicious and encouraged us to order several more from the display cabinet, which is kept stocked by the chef. Each one was a work of art – a miniature piece of carefully made gastronomy, with all the flavours in perfect balance. We tried one with a stuffed red pepper, another with a delicious tortilla, and one with thin slivers of cod. All of them were superb, and accompanied the local Lanzarote Malvasia wine perfectly.

As well as excellent local wines, they have a large selection of vermouths and strong, rich coffee.

Pintxos Shop is a perfect place to stop for some Sunday lunch while visiting the market, or to enjoy a few drinks during the evening. Highly recommended.

Pintxos Shop is currently open from 1600 to 2200 on Friday and Saturday and from 1030 until 2000 on Sundays. You’ll find them at Calle Matrimonio Duque Abreut in Teguise.
