Lanzarote Restaurant Review – Da Vinci, Puerto del Carmen

Da Vinci Puerto del Carmen

Da Vinci in Puerto del Carmen had been mentioned more than a few times on our Facebook page as somewhere our readers liked to eat. It wasn’t somewhere we had thought about, when looking for food in that holiday resort. We found ourselves in need of sustenance when it was the Fiestas del Carmen, so we decided to give it a go.

I think what has put us off before is the waiter / PR standing on the street outside, on this occasion he allowed us to browse the menu and just offered us a table, when we had made a decision.

Da Vinci is a surprisingly large restaurant and there were plenty of staff on, we managed to get a table just inside, so we could people watch and catch the slight breeze. I decided to order something from the €9.99 two course special menu and Miguel ordered from the standard menu. This pizzeria & grill restaurant covers lots of options, it was popular with families & groups as there was something for everyone on the menu.

We both decided on fajitas for our main course, mine were chicken and Miguel’s were mixed. As I had a starter of croquettes, Miguel ordered garlic bread to keep me company. The service is fast and friendly, we enjoyed a bit of banter with our waitresses who were amazed at the number of people around for a Tuesday night, we explained that it was the Día de Niño at the fair, which was why lots of large Spanish families were walking past the front of the restaurant into the harbour area of the old town.

The food was really good, there was no difference in size of the fajita dishes which were served hot, spicy and sizzling to the table. Miguel had thought he would get a larger portion as I was eating off the special menu! There was no quibbling when we asked for more tortillas, a fresh basket was delivered within a minute.

It was easy to see why Da Vinci Pizzeria & Grill was a popular restaurant with tourists in Puerto del Carmen, they have a lot to offer on the menu, the food is good and the service is friendly and quick.

They are situated on Calle Roque Nublo, the road into the harbour area of the old town, on the corner with Calle Tenerife.
