Lanzarote Beaches – Caleta del Mero

Caleta del Mero

Caleta del Mero is just one example of how you can escape the tourist resorts of Lanzarote, and discover some stunning beaches.

The white sand beach of Caleta del Mero is visible from the coastal road from Arrieta to Órzola, just past the wide sweeping bend you catch a glimpse of this beautiful beach at the top of the rise and conveniently there is a car park on the left. Access is via a rocky path directly opposite the car park entrance, or through the sandy dunes from the top of the hill.

La Caleta del Mero is popular with nudists and locals, there are a few stone walled zocos offering a bit of privacy and a stunning white sand cove with turquoise water for a dip.

This beautiful beach is just along the LZ-1 road from the Jameos del Agua and Cueva de Los Verdes in the North of the island.

It’s not accessible easily by public transport, so we’d recommend hiring a car, which is inexpensive in Lanzarote. Get a price here: Lanzarote Car hire.
