Government Support For Lanzarote Businesses

Camara

The Canarian Government has announced a further tranche of support for local businesses and the self employed. A total of €84 Million has been made available to pay direct grants to the self employed and SME’s in sectors most affected by the pandemic.

This support is available for businesses where their turnover fell by more than 30% in the second half of 2020, versus the same period in 2019. Applications must be made between 10th March 2021 and 8th April 2021.

There are several different types of support available, depending on the size of the business, and whether or not there are employees.

The amount of the grants ranges from just over €1000 to a maximum of €25,000. The amount is calculated based on three criteria:

  • A calculation based on fixed costs and overheads
  • Number of employees
  • The percentage of loss of turnover, with more money being allocated to those affected the most
