Anyone with a connection with sport in Lanzarote will know the name Kenneth Gasque. Kenneth was the man who brought Ironman, the island’s largest sporting event to Lanzarote, but he is also responsible for so many other sports events, that have been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of athletes over many years, including The Wine Run, The Ocean Lava Series, and The Music Marathon.
He is retired now, but he isn’t relaxing! Kenneth is launching a non-profit organisation, Gasque Sports Charity, under the tagline “Time to give back.”
The aim of the charity is to help “disadvantaged people, regardless of age, ability, gender and background” become active in sports.
Fundraising Dinner
The charity’s first fundraiser has been announced, and it’s a dinner and dance at Cangrejo Rojo in Puerto del Carmen, on 1st November.
The dinner will be followed by a charity auction, with Kevin Roper as the auctioneer, where you’ll be able to bid for some super things, with the money raised going to the charity.
The dinner is priced at 55 €, and includes Champagne, a three course meal with island wines and dancing.
Book a table by contacting Rosemary via email at rosemary@mice-life.com
