Fiesta San Ginés, in August,  is the capital’s big fiesta of the year, and as you can imagine, it’s a fabulous party with an amazing atmosphere. Best of all, it lasts two weeks, with something exciting happening almost every day.

The fun fair will be there, close to The Cabildo building and the Grand Finale is always a huge party on the beach with live music and fireworks.
Fiesta San Ginés is the festivities of the Patron Saint of the capital of Lanzarote are on from the 10th to the 25th of August this year. This is the programme:

Friday 10th
20h Parade from Las Palmas Square, next to the San Ginés Church, to the Casa del Miedo in the Charco de San Ginés, accompanied by Charanga Los Gruñones and the traditional “Giants and Big Heads”.
20:30h  Reading of the inauguration speech by the “Amigos de Portonao” at the Charco de San Ginés.
21h Rock Festival in the “El Almacén” Square with the performances of the following bands:
Viva Belgrado (from Málaga),
Mr. Sapiens (from Lanzarote),
Metalmorfosis (from Lanzarote)
No More Tales (from Tenerife) and
Natribu (from Fuerteventura).
21:30h Concert by Arantzazu Moscoso accompanied by pianist Melba Artiles in Callejón Luis Hernández Fuentes “El Aguaresio”.
