The 2026 “Concurso Oficial de Quesos Agrocanarias” announced on Tuesday 14th of July this year’s winners. The contest took place on the 24th and 25th of June in the island of La Palma.
The ruling granted a total of 66 awards: 38 great gold medals, 22 gold medals ands 6 special distinctions.
Out of the 85 participant cheesemakers with the grand total of 264 samples, an increase of 13.33% in comparison to last year, Lanzarote has been awarded 8 medals (the same amount than in 2025) to 4 different cheesemakers (one less than in 2025):
Finca de Uga with 4 medals,
Quesería El Faro with 2 medals,
Filo El Cuchillo and Quesería Montaña Blanca with 1 medal each.




By types of medals, Lanzarote has taken home: 6 Grand Gold medals and 2 Gold medals.

El Farito “Queso de cabra ahumado” from Quesería El Faro – Grand Gold medal
Pasteurized Cured Cheese:
Vulcano from Finca de Uga – Grand Gold medal
El Farito “Queso de Cabra untado con pimentón”” from Quesería el Faro – Gold medal
Pasteurized Semi-Cured Cheese:
Guatisea “Queso de cabra, hierbas provenzales” from Quesería Montaña Blanca – Grand Gold medal
Rojillo “Queso de Cabra untado con pimentón” from Finca de Uga – Gold medal
Pasteurized Aged Cheese:
Bodega “Queso de oveja” from Finca de Uga – Grand Gold medal
Raw Milk Semicured Goat Cheese:

Plant-based Rennet Cheese:
Flor de las Nieves from Finca de Uga – Grand Gold medal
