I recently met Livy and Daniel, the couple behind TF Brew’n, a new beer business here in Lanzarote. Their idea combines something many of us enjoy – a beer by the sea – with a way of supporting projects that make a difference.
The TF stands for Twin Flames. They describe their journey together as full of unexpected connections and coincidences, and bringing people together is at the heart of their business.
It all started with those simple moments sitting by the ocean, chatting about life and making plans. They began wondering whether the beer in their hands could also do some good. That thought eventually became TF Brew’n.

Their first beer is a 5.6% IPA, brewed and canned right here in Lanzarote with NAO in Arrecife. I had a chance to state it and it has a fruity aroma and is citrusy with a lovely hoppy dryness. They describe it as bright and citrusy when cold, with floral and earthy notes developing as it warms.
And yes, it comes in a can! Don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s an imported beer. This is a local product, and the packaging was a deliberate choice. Cans protect the beer from light, help preserve freshness, are light to transport and can be recycled.
The interesting part is what happens next. A portion of the profits goes towards environmental and community causes, and customers get a say in how that support is shared.

Every can has a QR code. Scan it and you can discover the projects and vote for the one you’d like them to support. Their current selection includes The Ocean Cleanup, Rewilding Europe and IMAGO, which helps young people in Lanzarote take their next step into independent adult life.
I like the fact that there’s a local community project alongside the wider environmental causes, and that customers can find out about each before making their choice.
Livy and Daniel have also put together three free Lanzarote road-trip guides: Wild North, Volcanic South and Coast to Coast. They share some of their favourite discoveries and encourage visitors to explore independent local businesses. You’ll find places selling their beer along the way, too.
It’s an interesting approach to building a business: start with something you enjoy, work with a local producer, and give customers a way to get involved in supporting good ideas.
Their phrase for it is “Good beer. Real impact.”
You can read more about the projects, explore the free guides and find somewhere to try a can on the TF Brew’n website.
