“Bocata” is the Spanish slang for “bocadillo” and “butty” would be the closest in English. In this gastronomic proposal they actually range from sandwiches, rolls to even burger buns!
The principle of the tour is simple: the 12 different participating “bocatas” are priced between €5.90 and €13 (although the majority fall into the €10-12 range), including at least one ingredient produced locally which is marked with an asterisk.
The price of the “bocata” includes also a drink but to avoid disappointments or misunderstandings, ask the staff of each establishment what the options are when ordering. This year they are specifiying that you can also order it to take away.
The idea behind this gastronomic tour of it is to promote both the establishments and the local produce in the area.

The Tinajo Town hall has announced the 10th edition of their “Tinajo Bocata Tour” which is taking place between the 30th of October and the 16th of November, 2025.
These are this year’s participating establishments and their “bocata” proposals:
MANCHA BLANCA
Bocata buda – Squid sandwich with coleslaw, fresh cheese* from Filo El Cuchillo and avocado aioli. Served with sweet potato fries with chilli mayo

To vote for your favourite “bocata”, hand in your completed card before 3pm on the 18th of November, 2025 at the Casa de la Cultura on the Avenida de los Volcanes, 21 in Tinajo,There will be three prize draws for €100, divided into vouchers worth €25, to be spent at participating establishments. A maximum of two vouchers may be used per establishment. The prize draw will take place on the 19th of November, 2025.
