Costas Approves Sunbeds

The coastal authority has finally approved the provision of sunbeds in both Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. It means Teguise can now go ahead and tender for a supplier, which should mean sunbeds return to their beaches within a few weeks. The numbers approved are 580 sunbeds for Costa Teguise and 1698 for Puerto del Carmen.

F1 Driver George Russell Spends Christmas In Lanzarote

Mercedes F1 driver George Russell is on the island for Christmas, posting photos of himself with his niece. He has been staying in Puerto Calero with family.

El Gordo Winners In Lanzarote

The El Gordo lottery, the world’s largest, has had two big winners on the island this week, with both being sold in the lottery shop in Yaiza. One was a third prize worth 50,000 € and the other a fifth prize worth just over 6000 €.

Manchester City To Play In Lanzarote Cup

The Lanzarote International Cup will take place once again in June 2026, and it a has already attracted youth teams from Valencia CF, Athletic Club de Bilbao, Torino FC, and FC Porto; in addition to those recently announced, which include Real Betis, AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Sevilla FC. The latest announcement is that the prestigious English club Manchester City, whose manager Pep Guardiola is Spanish, will send a team to the tournament.

Big Win For U D Lanzarote

U D Lanzarote ran out 5-0 winners in their home match against UD Tamaraceite. The Rojillos had a spectacular game putting all of their chances away, and defending well when needed.
