Scuba diving in Lanzarote is amongst the best you’ll find anywhere in the world. We have clear, warm waters, amazing volcanic reefs and caves and an abundance of interesting sea life. Boat dives are available, but most of the best dive sites on the island are easily accessible from shore.
Island Watersports have been established in Puerto del Carmen in the harbour for many years, and their present location is right on the harbour wall. The business is run by Georg, Iain and Marie – between them they have years of experience and several languages.
The dive centre offers training with CMAS and PADI, and they have top quality equipment for hire as well as a state of the art membrane compressor.
As well as try dives and training, the team offer daily dives to various sites on the island, including boat dives, wreck dives and reef dives, and their boat is a short step away from the dive centre. They also regularly take divers to the famous Museo Atlantico in Playa Blanca.
In terms of sea life, you can expect to see various types of ray, moray eels, dorada, sama, octopuses, cuttle fish and angel sharks. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot sea horses, a sun fish and some very large grouper.
The centre is equipped with changing rooms, showers and toilets and there’s a small café with outside tables where you can enjoy a post dive drink.
