Discover the remote islands in the North of Lanzarote during a boat excursion day trip with Eco-Insider.

The boat trip starts from Orzola and takes approximately an hour to reach the island of Alegranza, which is the furthest from Lanzarote on this tour. The boat circles this island which is uninhabited and provides a safe haven for birds. Your guide will have binoculars and information on the birdlife that can be spotted along the coast of Alegranza, including the Eleanora’s Falcons which migrate from Madagascar to nest here.

Remote Islands Boat Excursion Eco Insider

This boat excursion continues to the next island of Montaña Clara, this is a good place to watch out for sea life, dolphins, whales and sea turtles can be spotted along the way. Conservation and education is the priority for Eco-Insider excursions, so the boat doesn’t disembark on uninhabited islands.

Eco Insider Trek La Graciosa

At the third island of La Graciosa, the boat docks and you can choose from a hike or jeep ride to reach the harbour town of Caleta del Sebo. After all that sea air and exercise you will be ready for your “fruits of the sea” lunch which includes wine and water.

Fruits of the Sea Lunch Eco Insider

After lunch there is a little free time to explore the town, and maybe the interesting church if it’s open, before catching the ferry service back to Lanzarote.

This excursion provides a rare chance to visit the Parque Natural del Archipiélago Chinijo marine reserve which includes 6 islands (Lanzarote, Montaña Clara, Alegranza, La Graciosa, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste). This is a small group tour, where you will learn about the history, geology, botany and wildlife to be found in these remote islands.
