Pedro Sanchez confirmed that the requirement to wear face masks outdoors in Spain will end on 26th June. The change to restrictions was announced after a meeting of the council of ministers.
It will mean that there will be no need for Face masks when outside in public from next weekend and Sanchez announced that this is the “last weekend where we will need to wear them outdoors.”
Specifically, the change will allow for people not to wear masks as long as they can maintain a 1.5 metre social distance from others. If that’s not possible, for example, at crowded outdoor events, they will still be needed. We will also have to continue to use masks in indoor public spaces and on public transport.
The confirmation of the new law is expected on Thursday, and we’ll post it in full here.
