According to the CACT’s Executive Chef, Alberto Nieto, the new season is a very good time to liven up the gastronomic offerings of the Castillo de San José restaurant with new and original dishes, using local produce.

These are the newly introduced dishes diners will be able to order:
On the “Dishes to share” section:
– Grilled goat cheese roller, tomato confit, tender lettuce from Teguise dressed with pomegranate arils
– Prawn carpaccio with ginger vinagrette and sprouted grains
– Marinated Sea bass ceviche with Lanzarote corn
– Grilled octopus macerated on “mojo rojo” (the canarian red sauce) on a bed of smoked sweet potato
– Risotto with duck magret, boletus, foie gras and Parmesan cheese.

On the “Spoon dishes” section:
– Cold cream of straberrys, mango and grilled red prawns
– Cheese, bacon and dates ravioli sauteed with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms

Other dishes offered include:
– Sliced ham, roasted aubergines, peppers and green asparagus with little broad beens vinagrette with tomato
– Bao bread with Canarian pork cooked at low temperature
– Deboned ribs with pineapple, mushrooms and foie gras with finely sliced potatoes
– Lamb cutlets with “bonita” potatoes (a Canarian variety), breadcrumbs with chorizo and potatoes
– Island fished stuffed with “burgaos” (a sea snail), fresh spinachs, cherry tomatoes, walnuts and potatoes

And on the desserts section:
– Mojito sorbet with G&T foam
– Sweet potato pudding with goat cheese ice-cream
– Carrot brownie with orange and lime syrup and mandarine ice-cream

Also, there will be a tasting menu of five savoury dishes and one dessert that will change every two weeks.

I don’t know about you, but I’m already salivating!

The QuéMUAC Restaurant is located, like we have mentioned above, at the Castillo de San José which is located on Arrecife’s waterfront as you head from the capital’s city centre towards Costa Teguise, on the (very appropiately called) Carretera los Castillos.

The restaurant itself is accessed by a path to the left of the entrance of the Castle, which hosts the MIAC (short for Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo) – Lanzarote’s International Museum of Contemporary Art.
