Marina Rubicon

Marina Rubicon Playa Blanca

Marina Rubicon is Playa Blanca’s yacht marina, set between the town and the beaches at Papagayo.

First opened in 2003, the marina has berths for 550 vessels, both mono and multi-hull, and can accommodate boats of up to 50 metres. It’s also home, as you would expect, to a yacht chandlery shop, a dive school and is a starting point for visits to the nearby underwater museum – Museo Atlantico.

But it’s much more than a boating place – Marina Rubicon has more than 20 bars and restaurants, a similar number of shops, including high end designer shops and a market every Wednesday and Saturday: Marina Rubicon Market.

The whole shopping and restaurant area is laid out like a small Spanish village, with narrow alleyways wending their way between the buildings. There are also wooden walkways which help you to cross the water.

In the centre, there’s a large open air swimming pool, and for sports fans, there are tennis and padel courts on site.

There are regular activities and events held at the Marina throughout the year.

If you’re staying in, or visiting Playa Blanca, we’d highly recommend setting a few hours aside to enjoy Marina Rubicon and to have a meal there.
