The V Factor in Arrecife, is a quirky and very cool vegan restaurant in Lanzarote.
The V Factor by Mítríx Persu was the first 100% vegan restaurant on the island and offers diners something completely different. The interior is fascinating, the more you look the more you see, there’s a parking area for dogs & bikes. The tables and chairs are recycled tyres and pallets, there’s sheets of newspaper on the walls and some funny messages chalked up on the boards.

This was my first vegan experience, I love most food and wasn’t sure what to try from the menu, so I opted for the daily special which was priced at €10 and includes 3 courses plus a coffee. The starter was tabbouleh which was minutely chopped, fresh and delicious when spooned into the lettuce leaves and eaten in the style of a wrap.
The main course didn’t have a name, promoted on their Facebook page as “That’s the way, aha aha, I like it, aha aha”. We really did like it, this was a stunning combination served warm including a base layer of mashed potato, a middle layer of sweetcorn & courgette, a top layer of avocado and fresh green asparagus to finish.
Wow, the vegan ice cream, what can I say – this was a gorgeous combination of raspberry ripple and almonds served with a pink wafer biscuit, I savoured every mouthful!
I’m more of a tea drinker than coffee and wasn’t sure what to order, after my lunch, this café con miel de caña was a brilliant alternative to my usual café cortado condensada for a short sweet drink to finish.
It was great meeting Mítríx, her sister Ithaysa and the cool dudes Aythami & Alejandro at The V Factor today, I just know this is going to be one of our favourite places to pop in for a healthy snack and drink when in the capital.
The V Factor menu includes a combination breakfast for €4, various wraps, sandwiches, salads priced from €2.50 to €5, milkshakes and fresh juices at €3.75 and the daily 3 course special with coffee for €10.
The V Factor is in Calle La Porra in the capital, it’s really easy to find and only a minute away from the Gran Hotel for easy parking. Just walk directly up Calle Dieciocho de Julio, which is the side street next to the Arrecife sociedad, past the Taiwan restaurant and the entrance is directly in front of you.
