We walked through through the Las Cucharas shopping centre with the intention of a pizza for lunch at one of the restaurants on the terrace overlooking the beach.
We decided on the Restaurante Prado Verde which has a double front with plenty of shaded seating to eat al fresco. Although pizza had been on our mind, we actually ordered the menu del día after browsing their menu.
Miguel went for the €12.95 menú especial and I chose dishes from the standard and extremely good value menú del día at €7.75. Both menus offer salad, soup or pasta for the starter, we both ordered salad, Miguel’s was slightly larger portion and on a posher plate than mine. The salad was lovely and crisp with tuna and egg included.
The second course offered different main meals on the menus, the standard was a choice of pork chop, grilled chicken breast, veal escalope or fish fillet which was my choice. The special menu included half a roast chicken, sirloin steak, pizza or calamares which was Miguel’s choice. The calamares were excellent and I enjoyed my fish, neither of us particularly enjoyed the medley of vegetables accompaniment.
For dessert I chose the flan and Miguel picked the chocolate mousse, the special menu also offered ice cream as a third alternative.
Service at the restaurant was good, the waiters seemed to enjoy a lovely banter with the customers and many diners appeared to be regulars. The Prado Verde offers something for everyone with a wide range of international cuisine.
