Mystery Surrounds Missing Brit After Boat Fire
A small boat called Orca, based at Marina Rubicon, was seen on fire last Friday morning. Police were called to the area where they found the wallet and ID of a 55 year old British resident, who has not yet been named. Despite an intensive search, no trace of the man has been found. The vessel had left the marina at around 0730 that morning, and was reported on fire about 1.5 miles off the lighthouse in Playa Blanca.

Foreign Residents Reminded About Voter Deadline
Foreign residents here in Lanzarote are entitled to vote in the municipal elections which take place in May. They must register to do so at their Ayuntamiento, by 30th January.
New Beach For Playa Blanca Faces Planning Delays
The new beach proposed for the rocky stretch of coast next to Marina Rubicon is in a planning quagmire currently. The file has not “moved” since June 2018, and is awaiting approval from Costas. The aim is to create a sandy beach, almost 1KM in length, with sun beds and parasols.
