US Journalists On Island

A groups of US travel journalists and content creators have been on a 3 day visit to the island this week. They were taken to several hotels and introduced to the island’s gastronomy. It’s the first in a series of initiatives to open up new markets for the Lanzarote.

New Marine Species Discovered In Puerto del Carmen

A totally new species of sea slug has been discovered in the waters around Puerto del Carmen. The tiny 2mm slug, genus Lomanotus Verany, was discovered by scientists from the University of Oviedo.

March Warmest Since 1961

March was the warmest for Lanzarote since 1961. The 30th March was the hottest spring day recorded here, with 34 degrees.

11.3 Million From TV And Film Companies in 2022

Television and film companies spent a total of 274 days filming on the island last year, generating an income of more than €11 Million. The tourist board has targeted more from this sector going forward. The island is also being increasingly used for photo shoots, and in 2022 campaigns were shot here for Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Roxy, Decathlon, Massimo Dutti, Mango, Parfois, Pull & Bear and Zara.

UD Lanzarote Loses First Play Off Game

Los Rojillos lost the first leg of their play off tie against UD Villa de Santa Brígida. The teams play again Sunday 7th May here in Lanzarote, with UD Lanzarote needing a win.

“La Sal” Beer From Salinas de Janubio

Salinas de Janubio has worked with two other local businesses to produce interesting complimentary products. Cervecería Nao has created a beer using sea salt, called “La Sal,” and Can Ricardo are producing a range of nuts flavoured with salt from the producer. All will be available at the shop at the salt pans.
