Lanzarote Ladies Connected

Over 20 ladies from all over the island partook in the first get together of members of the newly formed Lanzarote Ladies Connected, (LLC). The driving force of this group is the women themselves and Ruth Greaney, who lives near Tias, organised the meeting, on Tuesday, June 30th.

Ruth commented, “I was delighted with the response to the initial call out to afternoon tea at Café de la Plaza, Puerto Calero. Spaces were filled within 24 hours, proving this is a much needed concept. Ladies attending came from Arrecife, Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen.”

Lanzarote Ladies Connected is the inspiration of Jilly Laughton, (also founder of the very successful Lanzarote Swallows). Jilly explained, “My vision in setting up LLC was to enable women of all ages and nationalities across the island to connect so that they may share similar interests. Whether it’s for sports, exercise, walking, cycling, shopping, finding a language partner for conversational practice to help improve their Spanish or English, getting together for afternoon tea or simply taking a coffee somewhere different, LLC creates that opportunity. Husbands and partners may have different interests so at times it is wonderful to share activities with friends. Single ladies are welcome too of course, but LLC is not a dating site.”

So if you love spending time on this beautiful island and whether you are here permanently, are a Swallow, or visit often, Lanzarote Ladies Connected is an informal Facebook group for independent and active ladies looking to expand their social circle in good company.

With safety in mind, members of this group are advised initial meet ups should be in a public place and participation is at each individual’s own risk.

Women may join this group by request on the Lanzarote Ladies Connected Facebook page.
