Lanzarote Bodegas

Wine producers in Spain are called Bodegas. Lanzarote produces some award-winning wines, so it would be rude not to try one or two during your holiday in Lanzarote! Not to mention witnessing the unique landscape of Lanzarote’s wine region La Geria.

This is the 2023 official map of wine produced in Lanzarote. These are predominantly found in the centre of the island, with the exception of three wineries in the north and an increasing number of smaller wineries in the Tinajo area.

1. Bodegas El Grifo

Situated on the LZ-30 from San Bartolomé to Uga, Bodegas El Grifo is the oldest winery in the Canaries, established in 1775, this company is still run by the family and among the ten oldest bodegas in Spain.

They offer four types of guided tours – in English almost every day and in other languages too – that require advance booking. Check their website for days and times for each language.

Their museum is one of the most visited in Spain (80,000 visitors per year). The semi sweet white wine was a favourite of Manrique, denoted by the label.
