The three kings parade with Melchor, Gaspar & Baltasar riding camels in Lanzarote can be seen in a variety of places across the island on the 5th January each year.
Here in Spain, the 6th January is the day that children traditionally open their presents – reflecting the fact that it was on this date that the three Kings brought baby Jesus gifts. The parade on the 5th is all about The Kings travelling to Bethlehem, and here in Lanzarote, they are usually mounted on camels. The Kings throw sweets to children waiting for them in the streets.
The 6th January is a public holiday for Día de Reyes.
Look out for the traditional Roscón de Reyes cakes to buy, they have a fun element to them with a king and a bean hidden inside. If you get the king you wear the hat, if you get the bean you pay for the cake!

Puerto del Carmen
11 am. Arriving at the harbour, procession from Calle Teide to Calle los Afrechos
Yaiza
10am. The Kings will arrive at Puerto Calero, from where they will travel to Playa Quemada, La Geria, Uga, Las Casitas, Femés, Maciot, Las Breñas, La Hoya, La Degollada, Yaiza (expected at 5pm), El Golfo and on to Playa Blanca for 7pm.
Costa Teguise
The Kings are expected in Costa Teguise at 12:40 as they travel through from Las Caletas to Los Cocoteros.
Playa Blanca
7pm. From the Jaime Quesada roundabout to Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Carmen.
Arrecife
6pm. The Kings will travel from Agramar at Puerto Naos, via Charco San Ginés and along the front to the Parque Islas Canarias.
Tias
6pm. Procession from the Calle Perez Galdos roundabout along Avenida Central & Calle Libertad to the football pitch.
Teguise
7.30pm. The procession will take place in the historical centre.
Playa Honda
5pm. From the esplanade at Playa Guacimeta to Calle Princesa Ico.
San Bartolomé
7.30pm: From IES San Bartolome, along Avenida Alcalde Cabrera Barrera, Calle Calderetas and Calle Parroco San Martin ending at the Ayuntamiento.
Haría
3pm. The Kings arrive at Arrieta harbour, estimated times for the villages 15:45 Tabayesco, 16:10 Charco del Palo, 16:30 Mala, 17:00 Punta Mujeres, 17:30 Órzola, 17:50 Yé, 18:10 Guinate, 18:30 Máguez before arriving in Haría at 19:00 for a procession in the principal streets.
Tinajo
5.30pm. Starting at the football pitch to Plaza de San Roque.
