The Spanish government’s track and trace app is now available for iPhone and Android in Lanzarote.
The system uses bluetooth to communicate with other phones with the app around you, and will send you an alert if you have come into contact with someone who has tested positively.
When a user tests positive, the system will go back fourteen days and check for other people using the app that you have come into contact with for 15 minutes or more.
If the app notifies you that is the case, you should request a Covid test and self isolate for 14 days.
The system does not collect personal data like names or email addresses from your phone. It will simply inform you if you have been close to someone who has tested positive for Covid 19. It’s 100% anonymous.
The language in the app can be switched from Spanish to English.
