“The best yet” was the verdict of many of the 350 people who attended the carol concerts performed in Christmas week by the “Voices”. The three performances, at Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise, raised €1730, almost €600 more than in 2017. This has been given to Calor y Café to support their work with homeless people and those in great need on the Island.

Tim Macer, who leads the group, said, “Our aim for 2018 was to strengthen the choir musically, with interesting new works and new arrangements to sing. We are lucky to have a talented group of singers who worked hard to produce such a beautiful sound. They deserve all the plaudits they have received”. He went on, “It is very rewarding to know that we have brought pleasure to those in our audiences and at the same time raised so much to support Calor y Café”.

Tim is now planning to introduce a second concert programme into the choir’s schedule for 2019, preparations for which will start in the New Year. Anyone with some experience of choral singing who is interested in joining the choir should contact Tim at christmasvoiceslanzarote@gmail.com
