Calor y Café

Calor y Café has been in operation for the last 13 years primarily to provide basic hygiene and food to homeless people with drug abuse problems. The café expanded in 2010 due to the economic crisis, their services expanded to provide food and support for local families in desperate need.

La Casa de las Estrellas

La Casa de las Estrellas is an independent animal sanctuary located in the middle of the volcanic desert in the north of Lanzarote run by Liala Miliardi with the help of many volunteers and supporters. Liala’s project in started in 2020 and she has been devoting all her time and resources to the well-being of her rescues ever since. It doesn’t have any governmental support so it relies on donations and the funds raised on their own Facebook online charity shop, events and the sales at markets like the Lanzarote a Carboot where they have a stall every Sunday or at Kathy’s Bar the last Friday of every month, too.

Stands for Protection of Animals and it’s the orginal animal charity in the island, also raising money for other causes.
Famoursly organises the long standing Carboot Sale at Lanzarote a Caballo every Sunday.

SARA

SARA (Asociación Protectora de Animales y Plantas “SARA”) is the local animal shelter with the heartbreaking job of housing and feeding many dogs and cats daily. Many of the animals have been abandoned or neglected and just want a loving home. They need help, you can go and volunteer for dog walking, raise money or make donations, sponsor an animal and of course, adopt a pet.
