Lanzarote Restaurant Makes Top Ten In Spain List

Kamezi Deli and Bistro, in Playa Blanca, has been given the accolade by Trip Advisor, and is listed as one of the ten best Haute Cuisine restaurants in all of Spain. Read our review of Kamezi.

Lanzarote has moved into 6th place on the list of most popular destinations for Spanish tourists to visit within Spain. The top five are Madrid, Tenerife, Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Sevilla.

New Record For Visitors To Main Attractions

More than 1 million people visited Lanzarote’s seven main attractions run by CACT in the third quarter of the year, a historic high.

Air Refuelling Exercises

Ocean Sky 2023 is a joint military exercise taking place in the skies over The Canaries. Air to air refuelling takers from France, Italy and Spain are practicing refuelling fighters from Gando military air base. Look out for an A330 tanker, a KC767 tanker and an A400M tanker during this week, taking off and landing at Lanzarote Airport.

North American Tourism Growing

Almost 5,000 visitor from Canada and The United States visited the island in the first 8 months of the year, a record number, and around 17% up on the previous year.

Binter Canarias Launches “Airpass Explorer”

Binter Canarias has introduce a new product called Airpass Explorer, which allows visitors to the island to benefit for greatly reduced prices on inter island flights, and in some cases, where travellers have flown to The Canaries on a Binter International flight, the island hopping flights can be free of charge.

Airport Numbers At Record High

Lanzarote Airport had more than 6 million visitors pass through by the end of September this year, surpassing the total for the whole of 2015. A total of 50,134 air movements have taken place so far this week. Cesar Manrique Airport is now the tenth busiest airport in Spain.

Three Cruise Ships Last Weekend

Three cruise ships docked in Arrecife last weekend – P & O’s Iona, with a capacity of over 6,000 people, Celebrity Silhouette, with around 2,800 passengers, and for the first time to Lanzarote, the luxury cruise ship World Navigator, which has 196 passengers aboard.

Temperature Finally Dropping

After 15 straight days of high temperature warnings, the island is finally cooling down this week, with high’s on Monday expected to be 32 degrees.

Yaiza Starting Process To Allow Cruise Ships To Dock In Playa Blanca

Yaiza town hall is starting the process by discussing the requirements for border control with National Police, with the aim of then contacting cruise lines that run small our boutique style cruises in order to offer them berthing and stopovers in the resort.

Fraser’s Dolphins Spotted Off Lanzarote For The First Time

Scientists have confirmed the siting of Fraser’s Dolphins around the coast of Lanzarote last weekend. They are a species never seen in our water before, and are characterised by their unusual, dark colouring, and triangular dorsal fin.
