Flor de Phoenix is a buggy tour that lasts between 3 and 3.5 hours, taking you through some of the island’s most spectacular scenery, where lava from the eruptions at Timanfaya reached the ocean. You’ll stop en route at the amazing Salias de Janubio and tour the salt pans there, before heading to Los Hervideros, which features incredible spouts where water shoots up into the air on rough days.
Next, you’ll stop in the little village of El Golfo to enjoy a coffee and a snack.
Here’s the route
Finally, you’ll get back aboard your buggies for the drive back to Yaiza.
Total tour time is 3.0 to 3.5 hours.
The buggies are really special – although they have the full vintage beach buggy look, they use modern four cylinder engines and automatic gearboxes, so they are super easy to drive. They also seat four, so the kids can come along, and they are fitted with bluetooth stereos, so you can enjoy your own music while driving in convoy.
This tour is priced at €140 for two people in a beach buggy, €170 for three and €200 for four. The tour is every Tuesday and it departs Yaiza at 0930, returning at around 1300.
Aim to arrive at 0900 to complete the paperwork, and any drivers must bring their licences and a passport or ID Card. You’ll need to wear closed footwear.
To book, complete the form below, and we will check availability for your dates and then we’ll send you a payment link for a 15% deposit – you pay the balance when you arrive.
We can arrange a private transfer for you from your accommodation to the buggy start point. €15 each way from Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, and €30 from Costa Teguise, for up to 4 people. Larger groups enquire for price.
