9 Things Teenagers Will Enjoy In Lanzarote

Looking for the right activities for your teenagers to enjoy during your family holiday? We’ve booked a lot of holidays recently for families with teenage children. It can be an awkward time for 13 to 17 year olds on holiday with their parents – they’re not old enough to go out and do their own thing, but in many cases trawling around the usual attractions, or just lazing by the pool aren’t very exciting options.

So we’ve put together a list of nine things most teenagers will enjoy:

A scuba Try Dive

The diving schools here all offer a “try-dive.” It’s a chance to get into the ocean, in a safe and shallow beach and to experience the joy of breathing underwater and seeing the amazing variety of sea life here, up close and personal. If your teenager really enjoys it, they can then go on to do an Open Water course and become a qualified diver.

A visit to the Aquapark in Costa Teguise

The Aquapark offers a great day out. Whilst there are some fairly tame water slides there for all ages, they also have the “Kamikaze” slide for older ones, a paintball park, and an adventure area which is like a forces assault course!

Kart Racing

The track at San Bartolomé is a cracker! They have a range of karts for all sizes of youngsters, a fabulous sun terrace for non-drivers and they serve great food!

Dive in a submarine

Take your teenager under the sea, without even getting their hair wet! Especially cool if you’re celebrating a special occasion, where one of the divers can appear at your window with a personal message. Book the Submarine.

Hire a bicycle

There are bike hire places in all the resorts, with mountain and road bikes available, and the island has plenty of safe cycle lanes, often running alongside the ocean. Any teenager will benefit from enjoying the sights while getting some fantastic exercise.

Enjoy a buggy tour

Your teenager will have to be driven by a parent, but the off road tours are great fun and take in parts of the island you’d never see otherwise.

Have a blast on a Jetski

Jetskis are available for hire at both Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen and Playa Dorada in Playa Blanca. There aren’t many more fun ways to enjoy The Atlantic!

Do a Segway Tour

Segways are those two wheeled machines which seem to defy gravity. It’s fun learning how to control them and even more so to explore on and off road around the island on them.

Open-air Movie or Cine6D

All teens love a good movie right? They also more than likely enjoy a 6D thrill ride. At Starlight open-air cinema in Puerto del Carmen they can do both. The Rooftop entertainment area offers lanzarote’s first and only outdoor cinema showing classics alongside more recent blockbusters. With Cine6D located here too, offering flight simulation and 6D thrill rides, it may not be just the teens who want to build this into the Lanzarote holiday!

Starlight open-air Cinema is located at the Biosfera Shopping Centre in Puerto del Carmen old town.

It’s packed with all the news, latest articles, upcoming events, photos and a video which we shoot fresh from somewhere on the island.

Have a surfing lesson

Lanzarote’s Famara beach is known as “Europe’s Hawaii.” The surf there is pretty much guaranteed every day, and the waves break in extremely shallow water, so there aren’t many safer places to learn to surf. A half day lesson is almost always enough to get youngsters to enjoy their first rides standing up!
